How important is a credit score?

Most people know that a good credit score is important but the reality is that most people still don't realize just how important it is. We all know that our credit score affects our ability to borrow money but it also impacts a lot of other areas of your life as well. If you want to rent an apartment you can be sure that the landlord will check your credit. The same is true of the phone company or the cable company if you apply for service. Poor credit will even result in higher car insurance rates.

The belief is that if you have a poor credit score you must not be a very responsible person, true or not it is an issue that you are going to have to deal with if you have poor credit. There is a good chance that if you have poor credit that you are going to struggle to find a job. This is obviously going to have a serious impact on your life so you are going to want to make sure that you maintain a good credit score.
